Do Not Ever Leave Swollen Gums Untreated!

Periodontal pockets form between the gums and teeth giving bacterial plaque a nice place to accumulate, if you do not get control over your swollen gums. As bacterial plaque continues to build up on teeth, there is more swelling, pain and pus forms, which leads to abscesses and eventual tooth loss. If gum disease is left without any treatment or remedy, it can also increase the risk for heart disease because the bacterial infection can travel from the oral cavity to the blood stream and to your heart, producing an inflammation of the lining of the heart that is life threatening.
